11-Day Botswana Safari Adventure – Explore Kalahari to Victoria Falls

Destinations: Victoria Falls, Kalahari, Boteti, Okavango & Chobe, Botswana

With this safari, you have an opportunity to explore Botswana’s main protected areas, with exclusive wildlife

experiences and limited human footprint. Your guide drives you from one lodge destination to another from the

start to the end. The itinerary is flexible to start in Victoria Falls and End o Kasane and Vice Versa.

Day 1: Arrival, transfer from Maun International Airport to Deception Valley Lodge

 Your safari will start in Maun, where your guide will meet you at 14:30 at Maun International Airport. You will

then travel 160 km to Deception Valley Private Reserve, on the northern edge of the Central Kalahari Game

Reserve.

 Upon arrival, you will receive a safari briefing and spend the night in a comfortable camp.

 You will check in and freshen up. The luxurious lodge offers a main area with indoor and outdoor dining,

swimming pool, gym facilities and charming curio shop.

 Dinner will be served at the outdoor dining area around 20:00

 After dinner there are optional activities that include star gazing and night drive.

Day 2: Wildlife experience at Deception Valley (Central Kalahari Game Reserve )

 In the morning there will be a wake-up call.

 You will have breakfast before heading out on your morning game viewing activity.

 After breakfast, you will be picked up by 4x4 open vehicle with an experience guide to explore the reserve.

There is diversity of wildlife in the semi dessert.

 After activity you will return back to the lodge.

 Freshen up and walk to the dining to have lunch.

 Afternoon siesta will follow. You can sit by the balcony of your room or use swimming pool.

 Around 15:00, walk to the main area for your afternoon high tea. Then head out to do your afternoon game viewing activity for approximately 3 hours other options may be a nature walk with a local San tracker, who will share knowledge of the bush and their captivating culture. You will discover a stunning region home to desert wildlife like Oryx, lions, hyenas, and cheetahs, and enjoy open spaces and clear night skies. Once the sun goes down, we will head back to the lodge.

 Arrive in the lodge and join dinner.

Day 3: Transfer from Deception Valley Lodge to Boteti River Lodge.

 You will rise early for a short game drive. The drive will take 3 hours before heading to the lodge . Other activity could be San trail, and the nature walk with the San bushman of the Naru tribe.

 Return to the lodge, freshen up and head straight to Boteti River Camp on the western edge of the Makgadikgadi Pans.

 Road transfer from Deception Valley to Boteti River Camp. From the Deception Valley Lodge to Boteti River Camp, you will take approximately 3-4 hours’ drive.

 You will spend one night at a camp overlooking the Boteti River in Khumaga village, on the edge of Makgadikgadi National Park.

 Warm welcome and Check in the Boteti River Camp which offering a comfortable room, air-conditioning and en-suite bathroom with outside showers and toilets. Freshen up and get ready for lunch.

 After arriving for lunch, you can enjoy a siesta before an afternoon game drive along the Boteti River. Boteti river offers high range of wildlife experience, and you will be having a chance to sight species like black –maned Kalahari lions and brown hyenas. The is migration of zebra and wildebeest. Again, options Nxai Pan full day game drives and Cultural Village Walks

 Return to camp

 You will spend one night at a camp overlooking the Boteti River in Khumaga village, on the edge of Makgadikgadi National Park.

 Around 19:00 dinner will be served.

Day 4: Transfer from Boteti River Camp to Khwai Guesthouse on the edge of Moremi Game Reserve

 After breakfast you will travel west, stopping in Maun for lunch at your own expense. The travel time from Boteti River Camp to Khwai Guesthouse is approximately 6 hours’ drive.

 You will continue to Khwai, driving through wildlife areas. An optional helicopter transfer to Khwai is available that afternoon at own account. The Khwai River area borders the Moremi Game Reserve.

 Upon arrival, you will then check in at Khwai Guesthouse with warm welcome, making yourself comfortable and relaxing from long drive. Khwai Guesthouse offers amazingly affordable safari lodging set amongst one of the main highlights of Botswana’s wilderness.

 Over three days, you will search for diverse wildlife and birds while enjoying the region’s beauty. Game drives will explore the Khwai River area, and a Mokoro excursion on a river tributary will reveal hidden water system secrets. Accommodation will be at Khwai Guesthouse in Khwai Village.

 Dinner from 1900 to 21:00

Day 5: Wildlife experience in Khwai Concession

 The second day will start off with a morning game drive after you have enjoyed an early morning breakfast.

 After breakfast, your guide will take you to the 4x4 safari vehicle and head out to do your morning game drive while it’s still early to see wildlife

 Return to the guesthouse for brunch/lunch.

 Afternoon siesta will follow. You can sit at the balcony of your room and enjoy the African bush and bird sightings.

 Around 15:30 you will have high tea and get ready for the afternoon activity.

 Depart the guesthouse with an experienced guide to do game drive. Khwai concessions offer excellent wildlife viewing opportunities, particularly for leopards, lions, wild dogs, elephants, and over 500 species of birds. Again, options include Mokoro excursion and village tour.

 Return to the guesthouse and freshen up in your rooms.

 Walk to the main area for dinner.

Day 6: Mokoro Excursion Experience (Khwai)

 Early morning begins with English breakfast from 06:30 and it will last for approximately an hour.

 You will meet up with guide to brief you on the mokoro excursion.

 Around 08:00 you will head out to the mokoro station. Participate in Mokoro excursion on the Khwai River

you will have the opportunity to see different species of aquatic wildlife and land animals in proximity.

Enjoying the fresh breeze and explore the magnificent of the river. The activities will last 3 hours.

 Arriving at the mokoro station and meet up with mokoro polers. You will be given a full information on the safety of mokoro and rules and regulations about the mokoro.

 Mokoro excursion will start at 09:00 until 11:00 and return to the station.

 You will be polled back to the pickup station, and the guide will drive back to guesthouse.

 Freshen up and join brunch /lunch.

 Afternoon siesta in your room

 You will have afternoon high tea at 15:30 and be ready to leave the guesthouse

 The afternoon game drive starts at 16:00 and you will leave the guesthouse. The activity will take 3 hours.

 Drive back to the guesthouse immediately arrive, freshen up and walk to the main area for dinner.

 After dinner guide will escort them to their rooms.

Day 7: Transfer from Khwai Guesthouse to Chobe Elephant Camp

 You will start your day with breakfast for an hour.

 After breakfast you will journey to a rustic camp at the edge of Chobe National Park for two nights, exploring its northern regions. The drive will take approximately 10 hours from Khwai Guesthouse to Chobe Elephant Camp.

 On the way you will do a game drive through the Savuti area to the Chobe floodplains. Savuti is famous for its large elephants which are usually spotted in the waterholes.

 You will have a picnic lunch and arrive at the camp in the late afternoon.

 Check- in at Chobe Elephant Camp with a spectacular position overlooking the Chobe River floodplain.

 You will freshen up in your room and rest or use the swimming pool with viewing deck onto a private waterhole. While at Chobe Elephant Camp, you will participate in game drives and a boat cruise.

 Dinner

Day 8: Wildlife experience in Chobe National Park

 The next morning you will start your day early with breakfast.

 After breakfast you will head out to morning game drive to Chobe National Park. The park is teeming with wildlife due to the Chobe River, and you can expect to see large herds of elephants and buffalo, along with predators like lions and leopards.

 Return back to camp for lunch, followed by siesta.

 Around 16:00 you will leave the camp with an experienced guide to do afternoon game drive. The activity will take 3 hours. Again, other options include Kazungula bridge tour and Ngoma village tour.

 Return to hotel around 19:00 and join dinner.

Day 9: Explore Chobe even further

 On your last day in Chobe Elephant Camp, you will have breakfast in the morning.

 Following a brief morning game drive, your guide will escort you to the Kazungula border, where you will meet your transfer vehicle to your lodge in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe (Visa required).

 The transfer will take approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes from Chobe Elephant Camp to Pioneers Victoria

Falls Hotel

 You will check out and depart to Kazungula border.

 Handover to the Zimbabwean team and head to Victoria Falls 

 Upon arrival you will check in at a comfortable hotel and spend the last two nights before heading home.

 You will have rest, followed by Lunch (At own expense)

 In the afternoons, you’ll have the opportunity to witness the thundering Victoria Falls and shop for souvenirs.

 Return to the lodge

 You will have Dinner

Day 10: Explore Majestic Victoria Falls

 Wake up and have breakfast

 After breakfast you will visit Victoria Falls (own cost but arranged by us). Optional activities include guided tours of Victoria Falls, Village visits and various adventure activities such as bungee jumping, helicopter rides and white -water rafting.

 Return to the hotel for lunch

 Afternoon siesta, you can go shopping or walk around the hotel.

 After siesta, you will visit the Livingstone Museum. The tour guide will take you through the museum to learn

 more about the history of Zambia on your own expense

 Walk back to the hotel and freshen up

 Dinner approximately 19:00 to 21:00

Day 11: Transfer from Pioneers Victoria Falls Hotel to Victoria Falls International

Airport

 You will have breakfast in lodge.

 Any activities you will participate in are at own expense.

 Check out and you will be picked up at hotel and drop off at Victoria Falls International Airport. From the hotel to Airport is approximately 20- 30 minutes’ drive.
